Listen to our new Gaming podcast, One More Life – the next episode is about AC Mirage!
For many, those first few titles just can’t be beaten, so thankfully they can now rejoice – with a returning emphasis on stealth and a linear story very much at the heart of Mirage.
With so many massive video game release dates happening across pretty much every console and platform in October, Assassin’s Creed certainly has a lot on its shoulders to not only deliver with fans but stand out from the crowd.

Video games aren’t cheap, either. So it’s good to know as much information as possible so that an informed decision can be made.
To help with all this, we’ve rounded up all the latest Assassin’s Creed Mirage details from release date to trailers, gameplay news to which platforms the game can be played on. Everything can be found below:
When is the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date?
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on 5th October 2023. This is a week ahead of its original launch date of 12th October, which means we’ll have a little bit more time to play it ahead of the plethora of other games coming out in October, like Detective Pikachu Returns, Alan Wake 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros Wonder.
Check out all the upcoming game releases to see how Assassin’s Creed Mirage will fit into your gaming schedule, though it might be hard to carve out some time to play if you’re still trekking across the galaxy in Starfield – that’s not even considering whether you’ve gotten through Baldur’s Gate 3 yet!
When is the UK launch time for Assassin’s Creed Mirage?
Anyone in the UK looking to jump into Assassin’s Creed Mirage as soon as possible will need to wait until midnight of 5th October 2023. This time covers all consoles and those playing via Ubisoft Connect on PC.
Thankfully, you can pre-load the game on PlayStation and Xbox starting from 3rd October, with the full file size a mere 32GB.
It’s a little different for those looking to play via the Epic Games Store, with a go-live time of 5pm BST on October 5th stated by Ubisoft. Please note the game is not available on Steam.
Can I pre-order Assassin’s Creed Mirage?
Pre-orders have indeed begun for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Over at GAME, you can order the Standard Edition for £44.99 or the Deluxe Edition for £49.99, and there’s also a Collector’s Edition priced at £129.99 that comes with a figurine, a steelbook case and other goodies.
It’s also worth noting that everyone who pre-orders the game will get access to an extra quest called The Forty Thieves, which will apparently allow players to “uncover the mysteries of Ali Baba’s legendary cave”.
Which consoles and platforms can play Assassin’s Creed Mirage?
Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna and PC, with the PC release spanning across the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is not currently set to arrive on Nintendo Switch, however, it isn’t unheard of for AC games to get ported to Switch years after their original release. Just don’t expect to play it within the first year.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay and story details
The gameplay reveal harks back to the earlier games. Ubisoft creative director Stéphane Boudon described it as a “modern take on the iconic Assassin’s Creed gameplay experience… something we think both longtime and new fans alike will be eager to play”. And so far, that seems to ring true.
We’ll be able to approach objectives with a degree of freedom, too, with multiple paths and strategies being available for us to play with. We’ll even get to decide what time of day we want to get up to our assassin shenanigans.
The main playable character will be Basim Ibn Ishaq, who returning players will remember from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. He’s described as “a singular street thief with a mysterious past, who will join the Hidden Ones in Alamut on a quest for answers”.
The developers from Ubisoft Bordeaux have promised to deliver “a narrative-driven action-adventure experience with an intriguing coming-of-age storyline, charismatic protagonists, a majestic open city and modernised legacy gameplay focusing on parkour, stealth and assassinations” – and judging by the trailer, we’d say they’ve achieved that.
Baghdad itself is looking fantastic and we can’t wait to explore all the nooks and crannies of the beautifully realised historical city.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage History of Baghdad feature explained
Built-in from the start, Ubisoft is including a ‘History of Baghdad’ feature within Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Codex.
The feature is tied to your progress made in the main game. Complete it, and you’ll unlock a special reward for Basim.
The official Ubisoft website explains that the History of Baghdad “will deliver expertly curated information on the history, art and culture of Baghdad and the Abbasid Caliphate circa the 9th century, accompanied by images provided by museum partners”.
There are 66 historical sites to discover in-game, and visiting them will unlock “research-driven articles that dig into information across five topics: Belief and Daily Life; Government; Art and Science; and Court Life”.
Reading through these materials will help bring the game’s impressively detailed world to life and add to the authenticity. One of the best things about Assassin’s Creed is discovering its lovingly crafted historically accurate (fictionalised) worlds.

It’s been revealed that Carlo Rota, who voiced Basim in AC Valhalla, is not returning to the role for Mirage.
In the Assassin’s Creed Mirage cast, the role of Basim will instead be played by Lee Majdoub, who you might recognise from his supporting role in the Sonic the Hedgehog films (he plays Agent Stone, Robotnik’s BFF).
We also know that a new character called Roshan will appear as a mentor figure to Basim, with the role being played by Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse, The Flight Attendant, Arcane).
Is there an Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer?
There is indeed an Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer that was revealed during the PlayStation Showcase and it gave us a good look at what we can expect to be getting up to in ninth-century Baghdad. Check out the gameplay trailer below!
There’s still the original CGI teaser trailer that sets the tone and the challenges facing Basim so it’s definitely worth a watch. It’s also great to see how closely the gameplay trailer matches what the CGI vision offered. Be sure to check it out at the top of the article.
Additionally, a new launch trailer has been premiered close to launch that showcases Basim, the city of Baghdad and the gameplay in spectacular fashion. Check it out below:
